چکیده

For an open pit mine, the rock slope stability is one of major significant challenges at every stage in operation. It became a concern from planning until mining closure. Mining activities research location have entered closure phase and produced final that consists 4 single slopes with overall height 65m angle 62° its not yet known. The actual has discontinuities which affect potential for failure. Most methods used geotechnical practice estimating are based on traditional limit equilibrium methods. On other side, very few empirical techniques exist to assess stability. method Q-Slope relatively new methodology assessing terrains built masses. This was developed over last decade by Barton Bar (2015), modifications original Q-System application through parameter RQD, Jn, Jr, Ja, O-Factor, Jwice, SRFa, SRFb SRFc. analysis resulted stable condition because value βQ-Slope > βSlope. factor safety probability failure geometry known it fulfils acceptance criteria FoS ≥ 1.1 PoF ≤ 37,5% according regulation Ministry Energy Mineral Resources Decree 1827/K/30/MEM/2018.

Slope Stability Analysis Using Limit Equilibrium Method in Nonlinear Criterion

In slope stability analysis, the limit equilibrium method is usually used to calculate the safety factor of slope based on Mohr-Coulomb criterion. However, Mohr-Coulomb criterion is restricted to the description of rock mass. To overcome its shortcomings, this paper combined Hoek-Brown criterion and limit equilibrium method and proposed an equation for calculating the safety factor of slope wit...

Slope Failure of Embankment Dam under Extreme Flooding Conditions: Comparison of Limit Equilibrium and Continuum Models

During the spring of 2003, the downstream slope of an embankment dam began to move during an extreme flooding event. The current study was implemented to evaluate the slope stability of the embankment and as a case-study to compare the limit equilibrium and continuum modeling methods. Initially, stability analyses were performed using conservative shear strength of soils estimated from both bor...

Slope stability analysis with FLAC and limit equilibrium methods

The factor of safety for slopes (FS) has been traditionally evaluated using two-dimensional limit equilibrium methods (LEM). However the FS of a slope can also be computed with FLAC by reducing the soil shear strength in stages until the slope fails. This method is called the shear strength reduction technique (SSR). Many authors have pointed out several advantages of SSR over the limit equilib...

Back analysis of inter-ramp slope failure in Teghout copper mine

Slope stability is one of the most important issues in open pit mining design. The main purpose of any open pit mine design is to propose an optimal excavation configuration, considering safety, ore recovery and financial return. An accurate pit slope design which accounts for the mine geology, structural geology, rock mass properties, and hydrogeology models of the mine area, drastically enhan...
